The sofa in a house is one of the fundamental elements of decoration. We spend a lot of time there, as a family, watching television or playing board games, or even relaxing. It is therefore not surprising that it gets dirty very quickly. This is why it is recommended to clean the sofa regularly.
Here is a tip that will allow you to clean your sofa without damaging it and without damaging the color.
How to clean a sofa at home?
Cleaning a sofa is not only about looking after the aesthetics of our interior. This gesture is of greater importance, because it eliminates all potentially dangerous contaminants. Dust and small particles left on the sofa upholstery can pose a threat, especially to allergy sufferers. Additionally, cleaning the sofa eliminates odors that penetrate the furniture, such as those that come from the kitchen.
Ingredients for cleaning the sofa
A bowl
600 ml of warm water
1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid
1 tablespoon of baking
soda Half a glass of alcohol
2 tablespoons of window cleaner (optional)
A pan lid or pan
How to clean the sofa
First, pour water into the container. Then add dish soap.
Mix well so that the liquid dissolves and forms a little foam.
Then add the baking soda and stir again to dissolve it.
Pour the alcohol into the mixture, then mix everything well.
Add the window cleaner (which will improve the cleaning effect), but you can also skip this step. Your homemade laundry detergent will do its job well on its own.
Put a cloth in the prepared product, soak it well and wring it out (it should not be wet).
Then put it on the couch.
Then place the cover in the middle of the fabric.
Lift the corners of the material and press.
Clean the sofa using circular movements and you will immediately see the difference!
How to remove stains from sofa?
If you accidentally get your sofa dirty, spray the stain with window cleaner and wipe it with a damp cloth. The dirt will disappear in no time!
If you have spilled liquid on your sofa or chair, it will be important to clean it immediately to prevent it from drying out and leaving marks. A very effective tip is to use absorbent paper to remove any liquid that has fallen on the fabric.
If not water, we recommend using a mixture of lukewarm water and Marseille soap to prevent staining. Use an old toothbrush to apply this cleanser to the area in question. To dry, use a hairdryer moving it away from the sofa.
Knowing all these tips will help you keep your sofa clean and beautiful for longer.
